Peace and Freedom Party Convention 2004

The major decision taken at the convention meeting of the Peace and Freedom Party State Central Committee was the choice of a Presidential candidate. After hearing statements by representatives of the candidates being considered (including a visit by independent candidate Ralph Nader in which he answered questions) and much discussion by delegates and guests, the convention chose Leonard Peltier as our Presidential candidate and Janice Jordan as our Vice-Presidential candidate.

The convention also adopted positions on all most of the statewide ballot measures on which the party had not previously taken a position.

Another important, though quick and non-controversial, decision was to reaffirm our previously adopted platform and to set a schedule for reviewing it before the 2006 elections.
